About Let Them Eat Cake and Macarons

Let Them Eat Cake and Macarons (LTECAM) was started in June of 2017 in Round Rock, Texas by Liz Kunkelmann.  Liz has always had a passion for both art and baking.  After watching countless cake decorating videos and tv shows, Liz decided to try decorating her first cake.  She was completely hooked from there, and despite no formal training, or really any experience, she launched her business.  What started as a way to try new things and pay for Liz’s insatiable need for cake decorating supplies has turned into a business and career beyond what 2017 Liz could have imaged.

There have been many changes since those humble beginnings. In 2019 and 2020, LTECAM was nominated and reached the top 5 for Best of Round Rock Birthday Cakes.  In 2020, Liz won 1st and 3rd place awards at That Takes The Cake Sugar Art Show.  In 2020, LTECAM relocated to Edmond, Oklahoma.  It was a tough year to move, but we have been very fortunate to have found support and love from our new clients.  We look forward to working with you!

About Liz Kunkelmann, Artist/Owner

First and foremost, I am an artist.  Cake and sugar are my favorite medium to work with.  I love to sculpt, make realistic cakes, and just in general wow people with something fantastic.  I prefer to work from a theme, an idea, or a color scheme as inspiration.  I’m happy to combine different designs and inspirations into something new and original.  I love to create and work best when given full creative control over the design.

Outside of cake, I love all things glitter, coffee, makeup, reading, and my sweet family.  I have two boys, a wonderful wife, and a few obnoxious dogs.  I love Harry Potter, Rainbow Rowell, and fantasy books in general.  I’m also into boardgames, hanging with friends, and spending time with my family.

While I’m new to Edmond, I’m not new to Oklahoma.  For the most part, I grew up in Tulsa.  I attended Jenks High School and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Psychology.  I’m so happy to be back in Oklahoma!
